Our Students First,
Every Step of the Way
UConn is committed to providing an affordable education to students from Connecticut and beyond. Nearly 8,800 of UConn students are first in their families to attend college and nearly 82 percent of all students receive some form of financial assistance. Equally critical is improving student success at UConn. Improving the graduation rate and time to degree are the lead objectives of our strategic plan. This delivers on the promise we have made to our students and advances our academic reputation.

Explore Students First
Not every UConn student is the same. We must meet every student where they are. There are many factors that contribute to their success at college — and after. With that in mind, our Student First campaign priority encompasses areas such as:
Scholarships
Every student who gains admission to UConn is among the best and brightest, but not every student is able to complete their higher education without financial assistance. Accordingly, scholarships remain among the highest priority needs at UConn. The UConn undergraduate student body has a cumulative financial need of $393 million. UConn also remains committed to providing its 8,800 first in family students with access to a life-changing UConn education and experience. Scholarships fund college education, reduce debt and allow students to focus on academics, research, internships, and other unique opportunities.
Student Wellness
At UConn, we are deeply committed to enabling student success by fostering the optimal well-being of all UConn students. UConn’s investment in student wellness provides comprehensive student support that addresses diverse academic, social, emotional, and financial needs. We accomplish this by providing the highest quality compassionate care, offering exceptional health and wellness programs, and promoting an environment that reinforces students’ overall health and wellbeing for all students.
Student Success
President Radenka Maric often shares that the most expensive degree is the one that a student does not complete. At UConn, we focus on student success that extends far beyond academics. Your support ensures students have access to essential resources that improve retention, accelerate time to graduation, and foster academic excellence. Together, we support every Husky in achieving their fullest potential.
